Wiebe Grain Farm
Doyle and Valerie Wiebe farm at Langham, northeast of Saskatoon. They grow several crops, including hard red spring wheat, feed barley, canola, peas, and faba beans. Valerie is an artist and Doyle works with several farmer groups including: the Saskatchewan Canola Development Commission, Western Grains Research Foundation and Agriculture in the Classroom. this tour showcased a modern-day grain farm and the different technologies and techniques the Wiebes use to take care of their land for future farmers.
Here, students see a truck unload grain into and auger and up into a bin for safe storage. Did you know Saskatchewan's 36,000 farms grow 80% of Canada's durum wheat? #farmfact
